Long flight? Get busy using these tips.

Being on a very long flight can be exhausting. For others, this is a time to take a long nap while for others it is time to reflect on life, your choices and other factors around your life. Here are ways to keep yourself busy during a long flight;

  1. Watch a movie

Most flight companies provide movies, with a great selection, whereby passengers can have a selection. With the introduction of WIFI on planes, you can stream all your favorite shows. You can binge-watch your favorite shows throughout the journey. 

  • Journaling

Do you love to write? Then write a journal. It is amazing how much you will have written down throughout the journey. At this time, you will realize that a lot of ideas will flow, and you can get most creative at this time. This is also the best time for content creators to come up with ideas for their next content. You can also use this time to read a book.

  • Listen to music

How soothing can music be especially when you are bored? You might choose an album that keeps you energized. You can select from your normal playlist or just play the default ones on the plane. You can also use Spotify if you have WIFI connectivity on the plane. Remember, music can be very helpful especially if you are a nervous flyer. It will calm your nerves.

  • Listen to a podcast

Listening to a podcast can be entertaining as well as educating. There are podcasts available for whatever topic that interests you. You can select podcasts from TEDTalks that help you in individual development for inspiration. 

  • Learn a new language

You can download apps that teach you a new language. Yes, that is right. There are apps such as Duolingo that help you with the basics of foreign languages. This can be very helpful especially if you are visiting a foreign country whereby the language used is also foreign to you. 

  • Talk with your neighbor

On the brighter side, this will help you mouth not to stink :). It is good to start a conversation with your neighbor. This will help you in building your confidence and building relationships. Striking business deals is also possible creating a win-win situation. 

  • Take on pending tasks

Do you have pending emails that you have never replied? This is the best time to go through them and send replies. You can also take up tasks that were time consuming or that were procrastinated for a long time. If you are going out for a recreation trip, the last thing you want to think about is work on your vacation. Then, the long hours of flight can be the best time to finish up with work.

  • Play a game or fill puzzle

Playing games is a part of the journey that will help you cover the pending number of hours, without feeling bored. Also, puzzles will play with your mind, helping you in increasing your intellectual ability. 

  • Get flexible

Sitting through the long flight can be tough on the body. Find a good space where you can move about, taking your yoga exercises and stretches. This will help with blood flow within your body which in turn helps with brain activity.

  • Take a nap

Yes. We usually don’t have enough time to sleep. The number of hours when you are tired or bored from doing the other activities mentioned above, you can opt to take a nap. Your body will surely thank you. Your mind will also relax, and you brain activity will be improved.

Whatever the reason for your long flight, be sure to get an activity that motivates you to take the flight, without necessarily opting to take connecting flights.
